Jungle Audio’s website wasn’t working. As a small company operating in the event and hire space, they found themselves in a market dominated by incumbents with years of search authority.
Fourteen months of Vesalius later, Jungle Audio holds 13 Google number-one rankings, organic conversions are up 350%, and ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Claude are citing their product catalogue. Their first number-one ranking arrived 24 days after launch.
Jungle Audio is almost a well-kept secret. They are specialists in Funktion-One sound systems, DJ equipment, lighting, staging, and full production for festivals and events. They had a very strong reputation offline, with a much-loved team who knew exactly what they were doing, and many loyal clients earned through the quality of their work.
The website, however, wasn’t reflecting any of that. Organic visibility was minimal, inbound search enquiries were essentially zero, and the calibre of the operation wasn’t evident at all. On top of that, the site wasn’t built around how customers actually search.
Melbourne’s event production market is competitive, and Jungle Audio was up against businesses with years of accumulated search authority, established backlink profiles, and deeply indexed content. Success required a rebuild.
Before any design decisions were made, we mapped how Jungle Audio’s customer base actually searched for event production and audio hire. That research shaped everything that followed: category structures, product pages, metadata, internal linking, and landing page taxonomy. The site’s architecture was designed to capture commercial intent.
We built the hire functionality on WooCommerce, with integrated date selection, streamlined quote workflows, and a product catalogue designed around how people browse and compare equipment. With 42% of visitors arriving on mobile, we designed mobile-first. Average session duration tripled, pages per session lifted 27%, and the homepage now converts at 9.4%.
We opted for a fast, premium-feeling WordPress build, because slow, clunky websites cost conversions. Performance improved significantly, and the engagement metrics reflect that.
For 10 commercial keywords, Jungle Audio now simultaneously holds the number-one organic result and the number-one local pack position on the same Google results page. A Melbourne customer searching for audio hire, DJ equipment hire, or Funktion-One hire sees the brand appear twice in the top three results. This was the product of a deliberate dual-channel strategy the competition weren’t delivering.
The Jungle Audio crew have a specific personality that customers respond well to. We wanted that to translate through the website and blog copy, so everything was written in the Jungle voice. It’s relaxed, fun to read, engaging, and still shows the team’s expertise. It builds trust while keeping the business relatable.
The launch was step one. Fourteen months in, new keywords are still entering page one on a platform we built to compound.
The site went live in March 2025, and 24 days later Jungle Audio had its first Google number-one ranking. Organic sessions climbed every month from launch, from 99 per month to a sustained 573, and are still trending upward.
Conversions grew every quarter, and by the end of year one they were 350% above baseline. They grew faster than traffic, with the conversion rate rising from 3.8% to 6.8% site-wide. Branded search clicks grew 1,014% year over year.
The Google Business Profile moved in lockstep with the organic results: total customer actions up 110% year over year, website clicks from the profile up 181%, impressions up 82%, and 15 monthly call clicks, up from zero. Organic and local pack aren’t separate strategies; they compound each other.
We built Jungle Audio’s site to perform well in AI answer engines, and it is a core part of the content and structure strategy. When Melbourne users ask ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, or Claude about specific gear hire, such as “where can I hire a Funktion-One Evo 6 system” or “Pioneer CDJ-3000 hire Melbourne,” the answer engines pull Jungle Audio’s product pages into their responses directly.
AI-referred traffic has grown from a single session at launch to peaking above 5% of monthly organic traffic. Across the campaign, 147 sessions have come via AI referral, and those visitors arrive with intent, which means they convert. The same architecture that earned page-one rankings on Google is now being treated as source material by the next generation of search.
We helped turn Jungle Audio’s website from a quiet placeholder into their primary acquisition channel in just 14 months, and the work is still compounding. If you feel like you are constantly losing ground to competitors who have been around longer, Vesalius can help you outrank them while continuing to gain ground.
our work
We lead with the numbers because they do the work. A surgeon found before the hospital, a lighting platform rebuilt without losing a ranking, an event company now cited by the AI engines. Every project below is a client made easier to find for the thing they are already the best at.
